The stages of synthesis and regeneration of the Pt/C catalyst used in the production of hydroxylamine sulfate by hydrogenation with NO in an aqueous solution of sulfuric acid are analyzed. The role of the surface of the carbon support in the activity and selectivity of the catalyst is evaluated. Pt/C regeneration is described in detail. Examples of the use of complexing agents to reduce the proportion of processes that poison the catalyst are given. A new Pt/C catalyst based on a carbon fabric on which nanodispersed platinum particles obtained by the electro-condensation method in an organic liquid phase are deposited by a transfer method is proposed. The preparation of this catalyst using the Langmuir–Blotgett technology is described.
